hello and welcome to our new site and forum for reborning babies
My name is Catherine, and i am the very proud owner and administrator of this website and forum, its very new so bear with me, i aim to answer all posts within 24 hours. I am updating the site constantly and plan to make it much more baby friendly!
My aim is to give all reborn enthusiasts a safe and friendly place to stop by for a chat!
This website and forum is accessable to all to view, but only registered members are able to post messages.
I would ask all members to refrain from foul language and abusive or disruptive behaviour, as this will not be tolerated, and membership will be revoked and a permenant ban will be placed on anyone indulging in such behaviour.
From time to time, members will display their babies and will ask for constructive critiscm, please be kind to peoples feelings!!!! Remember, we all had to start somewhere, and as we know, all things get better with practise! No harsh critisicm should be given and will not be tolerated.
Should anyone recieve any negative posts i ask that they pm me and i will endevour to fix and rectify it as quickly as possible.

Now for the nice bit!

Hi everyone I am Hilary and I have five children,youngest 15 and I am a childminder of nearly 28yrs.I love dolls and babies,always have,far back as I can remember.I have bought a few dolls over the last 4yrs just bought Sofie by Denise Pratt,I love her sucking her thumb.I would like to get supplies and have a go at making my own.What do I need to get?How many fan brushes?Genissis heat paint is ready mixed better?Does that mean I don`t have to put thinner in?What colours do I need?Can I use my own oven for a start?Lots I need help with please ladies.

Hello from Texas girls! Seems like more reborners in the UK, and that is my favorite thing to do. I started about 6 months ago & have always restored dolls & collected. I have worked with pastels & Oil portraits & scenery, but I have never liked an art project better than reborning. It is art you can hold. I have just finished "Adam" Shelley Halperins kit & call him Coco as has sable hair & brown eyes, but don't know if I can figure out how to put up a picture here; I am not great on the computer yet. I am on facebook & member of Realistic Reborn Dolls forum & of Reborn Doll Kits Forum & expecting a kit any day from there called "Matthew" now on ebay prototype Benjamin David done by Michelle Morris & just talking & talking to everyone & learning so much. To the girl that is new to reborning, I would say I shopped ebay & got a large set of genesis paints that barely had any missing from someone who decided it just was'nt for them...also yes I use thinner with the premixed paint. I have bought every tutorial dvd I can find & also watch online tutorials. Nikki Holland has one on Still Momments Nursery & have found I like different things from each style & creating my own style. Hope that helps a bit, and hope you enjoy this as much as I do. Denise Pratt has a dvd I learned quite a bit from. Also Secrest dolls. Have a good night everyone, and I think it is much latter there at this time; about 9pm in Texas. There are some reborn dealers in suppliers that can sort you out hunnie.
have a look in there, a lot of ladies dont use their own ovens anymore but you can you use your own to start with,xxx
i use genesis heat set paints, i would recommend
flesh 08
flesh 07
white
purple
blue
burnt umber/raw sienna
red
yellow

There are some pre mixed paints you can get, its up to you, i dont use them, i make my own colours up,
i would recommend a sea sponge for mottled skin.

Hello, I am Emma, (Emy) I am really new to the making of reborns, but not new to the concept since my mum has been reborn mad for at least two years or more. (Marilyn, or Hari is her logging name)
I am twenty five as of next Thursday, and I love to do creative things, plus getting to spend time with my mum makes it an added bonus.
Right now, I am more into finding people to talk about anything really, mostly I am a little crazy at times, but all around bubbly person.
So yeah, look forward to getting to know people.

Hello all, my name is Mary, I am a stay at home mother of two and one day I was watching this show on TV called My Fake Baby and immediately fell in love with reborn dolls. So I went on the internet to see where I could buy one and realized they are very pricey so I started checking on ebay and came across the starter kits and links to reborn doll making forums and what not and I became hooked. After begging and pleading with my husband he agreed to by me a starter kit. I decided to go with the Puddin kit, fell in love with her face now Im just waiting for her to get here, I'm so excited!

Hello.
I joined on Friday. I am a mother of four, grandmother of seven and have just had {february 10th} a great granddaughter. So life is busy.
I also saw the program and couldn't believe what I saw. I have always had baby dolls. But nothing like I saw ! I had to have some.
I am nowhere near clever enough to reborn my own, so I have to buy. I now have six. But no more room, I fear, for more.
I have a Berenguer Mary sculp, an Reva Schick Ariella, three Adrie Stoete sculps Dylan, Saskia and Daisy {can you see a theme here} Also another by a name I cannot remember and I can't find who sculpted her now. But think she is also called a Daisy sculpt not sure though.
I love to knit and so I spend my time knitting clothes for them. Not quite so much now as the new real baby is here.
Once I find my way around I will put some photo's up. Then perhaps someone can help me out with who made my Sophie.
Thank you for letting me join and I hope to to talk to like minded people. My friends think I am nuts !
