Genesis Paints medium

Can someone explain to me the difference if any between the Genesis paint medium and the thinners. It seems they both do the same thing, am I wrong?

hello the use of the mediums 'alters the flow' of the paint without altering the colour depth.. thinners like white spirit thins it & disperses the colour like thick medium bulks up the texture of the paint.. hmm is that any help?? xx
