My first kit coming together

Postby sarahlovesreborn » Mon Mar 12, 2012 10:00 pm

Almost finished painting my first ever doll kit, just touching up bits. He's got no body yet so i've wrapped him up for the picture, i can't believe how much he came to life in my mums arms for the picture :) Please let me know what you think, thanks Sarah <3

I think your photos don't do your rooting justice. Have included a couple of photos to perhaps let you see a better angle to give people a clearer view of your work. Sorry the pics aren't that great. I am stuck with my iPad and it is restricted access to my computers.

Be aware heat will frizz mohair. If you need to heat set after rooting wet the hair and cover with a damp hat before you heat set the paint. Also, if you have sealed inside the head , do not heat set paint. The glue will melt and seep through the holes where the mohair has been rooted

Hi Jean, yeah i read about the hair frizzing so i dampened the hair and covered it with tissue like a headband (making sure nothing else can go wrong!) i haven't glued the hair inside yet, still playing around with it. Iv'e taken some new pictures now with some improvements iv'e made on him and in a better light i think, iv'e gotta be careful with the angles i take of him he looks like someone off the simpsons lol! your pictures look great, i can't wait to receive his body next week and then i'm sure he will transform into little baby Lewis once he's dressed! :-) Thanks Sarah <3
