Long Day

Postby Jean » Thu Mar 08, 2012 11:31 pm

Evening everyone, it's 9.52pm and today seems long enough to have been a fortnight. I'm sure you all get days like this. Seems so strange normally there aren't enough hours in a day for me, not even when I've been awake half the night. Everything is on a go slow, especially trying to get warm. Got really cold yesterday. At 7.10am yesterday the electricity went off, after 6hrs we got an emergency service back on. You won't believe the reason.....thieves had cut the electric cables to our part of the village and made off with them.i live in a cul-de-sac with the rear garden backing on to a very sharp drop down to a lane and on the edge of a green belt, so very quiet, not much chance of thieves being disturbed. Whatever, it more than disturbed the residents this end of the village, we are all getting on a bit now some have been neighbours for over 40yrs and most needing the WD 40. Either that or a bottle of single malt.

Talk to everyone tomorrow, I hope.
Goodnight, God Bless

Will eagerly await your findings, make you feel like a new woman. Could you try it on corn flakes, don't like all bran.
By the way, if it makes you feel like a new man......then sorry, I'm not really interested.

Talk later. Son arrived for dinner.

Things back to normal, day three parts gone and I could do with it being back to breakfast time. Gosh you do seem to be very busy, all that reborning work going on.

I don't know if our electric is done and dusted or it's a temp measure but at least everything seems to be working again. It was in the local newspaper they had got away with 330mtrs of overhead cable which was left hanging live where it had been cut through. It's a wonder no one was killed.

All seems to be well with the electricity now thanks Maggie. DIL most impressed with hubby's taking some of the coals off the gas fire and boiling up some water for coffee.

Had my brother visit with a flask of hot water. He had been out and bought a camping stove.

My neighbour and friend came to apologise, she was going to bring us a hot drink but thought, they have the coffee machine it grinds the beans and does the lot. The electric had came back on before she realised we need the electric for it to work.

All adds to life's rich tapestry.
