Assembly

Usually the original vinyl body is replaced with a soft stuffed and weighted body. What do you use in your bodies?

Hi girls, just like a bit of advice from more experienced reborners here please. finished my charlotte kit and have put it together using a jointed body. Used fibre fill to pad out the bit where the legs go, attached legs. used fibre fill in the body also poly pellets and baby fat in pouches then more fibre fill, attached arms the same as legs. The legs just hang when she is picked up... is this right? I can't add any more fibre, it'll split the fabric. Is it just the jointed body or is this how they are?? :(

The legs will hang as it's disc jointed to move easily. I don't think you will get a good weight in the body just with poly pellets you will need to use glass beads.

I used glass beads in the limbs, they just hang kind of funny and I wondered if this was right.

I use the fine glass beads (like salt)in the limbs up to the knee and elbow then fill to top with fibrefill, in the body I use baby fat, glass beads and fibrefill and in the head poly pellets glass beads and fibrefill.

Mikaela I took her apart and re assembled her. Added more fibre to fill her out a bit and more at the led joints. It seemed when picked up the knees turned in together, is this normal? and trying to pose her, arms and legs just flop back down. Would I have needed to tighten up the joints befor using?
Thanks Mikaela, bet I'm giving yiu a headache,

Hi hun I think because of the weight of the limbs they will tend to hang/flop a bit (the joints used are for Teddy bears but they obviously dont have much weight so are far more posable xx) If you hold her as you would a real baby and see how she feels.

I am holding one of my babas to see if its the same although the legs hang straight down the knees dont turn in :? did you align the centre of the leg with the seam of the body? if you know what I mean . xxx
