Metal Beads

Usually the original vinyl body is replaced with a soft stuffed and weighted body. What do you use in your bodies?

Metal Beads

Has anyone tried the metal beads for weighting. They are 2mm in size and do not rust? They seem to be cheaper and because of the weight you wouldn't need to put as many in. I believe they are used in miniature bears.

Just wondered if there any good in a reborn????

Ta very much

Whoops don't know what happened there. I would like to hear more about these metal beads, are they the same as the shot?

They are great - if you use them instead of the glass beads you can use mostly polyfil fibre in the limbs and so they are nice and squishy but with the same weight.

I was looking at them yesterday as I need to top up my glass beads too. The steel shot ones sound good and at £22 for 10kg it only £2 cheaper than the 5kg I was going to get from Tinks (it also means that I can get another kit instead) It says they are 2mm in size so that makes them half the size of my spacer beads so they are roughly the size of the poly pellets, if thats of any help to anyone.
