Has anyone tried the metal beads for weighting. They are 2mm in size and do not rust? They seem to be cheaper and because of the weight you wouldn't need to put as many in. I believe they are used in miniature bears.

Just wondered if there any good in a reborn????

I haven't used as of yet but will be ordering some from peacock fibres when i use my fillings up

They are great - if you use them instead of the glass beads you can use mostly polyfil fibre in the limbs and so they are nice and squishy but with the same weight.

, the steel shot is on the peacocks website and is cheaper than some of the other products.

I was looking at them yesterday as I need to top up my glass beads too. The steel shot ones sound good and at £22 for 10kg it only £2 cheaper than the 5kg I was going to get from Tinks (it also means that I can get another kit instead) :lol:

It says they are 2mm in size so that makes them half the size of my spacer beads so they are roughly the size of the poly pellets, if thats of any help to anyone. :wink:
